Luxury House in Karesuvanto, Enontekiö!

House is located on the border river Muonionjoki between Finland and Sweden on a lovely place by the river shore. Only 7 kilometers away from the village of Karesuvanto, where you can find shops that offer groceries, souvenirs and everything else to satisfy your needs. Here we have a lot grayling, trout and pike spots near to house! House is available all year round!

  • The house has three bedrooms (6 +4 people), a library room, living room, kitchen, utility room, and sauna. Equipped with a dinner for 12 people, TV, DVD player, radio, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, freezer and refrigerator, sami Kota (a teepee), boat and engine in summer

River Muonionjoki:

Salmon rise up the Tornio- Muonio River system, the border river between Finland and Sweden. The Muonio River also offers the possiblity to catch large grayling.

Salmon and trout fishing season: 1.6-31.8. (best time for salmon fishing in river Muonionjoki: 25.6-31.8). Other species (grayling, pike, perch) are allowed: 1.6-15.9

Salmon Fishing is not allowed from Sunday 7 pm to Monday 7 pm. At this time salmon are allowed to swim upstream in peace.

River Könkämäeno and small tributaries - Grayling and trout!

River Könkämäeno and small tributaries located only 20km from the house!

The River Könkämäeno is one of Finland`s best large grayling and trout river. It is fed by the Lake Kilpisjärvi and many smaller tributary rivers on its way down south from the fells of North-West Lapland. From the altitude of 473 metres it flows 90km through the rugged highlands down to 142metres. Where the River Lätäseno meets with the River Könkämäeno above the village of Kaaresuvanto, the river becomes the great River Muonio.

The largest grayling taken on a fly in Finland in the 2000's weighed 2.280 kg (5.03 lbs). It was caught on the Könkämäeno River in 2001. I believe even bigger grayling are still present there!

One of Finland's best large grayling and pike lake. The lake and small streams aroud the area can offer enjoyable fly fishing experiences in the midst of Enontekiö's wilderness, far away from the hustle and bustle of every day´s life!

According to statistics, the best place to view Northern Lights is the Enontekiö region, far from light pollution. The best times to see the Northern Lights are the hours... both sides of midnight. October untill February are the best seasons for occurrences of the Northern Lights.

The thickness of the snow cover is normally at its greatest around mid-March; a time when Kilpisjärvi boasts an average of 90-100 cm of snow. On average, the first snowfall arrives on 7 October, with permanent snow cover from 27 October. The winter’s snow cover usually melts on average by 30 May.
